What Is a Community Issue?

Community Issues are problems or concerns that a community (town, neighborhood, or other community group) has and believes they can fix.

Do you notice any problems in your school or town? Perhaps you notice bullying in the hallways, litter on the streets, people in need of food, or animals in need of help. These are all examples of community issues and there are many more. Read on for examples of community issues that fifth graders have focused on for their Kid Governor platforms.

What community issue do you want to see changed in your school or town community?
